Dear Wedges, - Wedges And Wide Legs Boutique

Dear Wedges,

Dear Wedges,
I'm so happy to have met you in this life. We go together like a fine wine and fancy cheese, or like peanut butter and jelly, or (enter funny combo here). But I feel that you know everything about me (and my feet), and I know nothing of you. Please spill the beans!
After diving head first into google and typing in, "where did wedge shoes originate" this is what I found. History is never something I ever really seek out, unless it has to do with my husbands ex girlfriends. What did she look like? Does she miss him? HA Just kidding. Laughing? You know you've done the same Sherlock.
Anyways, I started to actually get curious about where these things I love so much started. I wanted to know the story! Who was the genius behind my love for wedge shoes?
Turns out, the man behind the wedge shoe, is Salvatore Ferragamo from Italy. Which is so fitting because our Seychelles shoes are made in Italy, which was one of the reasons I fell in love with them. Long story short, in the 1930's he was known for his beautiful shoes but not the comfort. Which led him to study in anatomy, mathematics and chemical engineering. Hello wedges as we know them! But before any of this happened, wedges were actually used in ancient Greece.[1] Greek Actors used to wear these shoes to signify status. But wedges became mainstream and introduced by Salvatore Ferragamo in the 1930's.
SO a big thank you to those who came before us and blessed us with these styles!
XO
Sammy
(Due to creativity and work flow I don't check for grammatical errors or the correct way to say things. Plus it's exhausting because I'm horrible at it. So take me as I am or leave me forever (with back of hand on forehead and body tilted back)). 😘
